Security Keynote

Oleh Derevianko, Co-founder & Chairman, ISSP

This year Oleh Derevianko will speak on the cyber conflict in Ukraine and its wider implications. Oleh is the co-founder and Chairman of the Board of ISSP (Information Systems Security Partners) - a cybersecurity company founded in Ukraine in 2008 and currently operating internationally in both the private and public sectors. Oleh and ISSP are also working with Canadian partners to provide cybersecurity training in Ukraine.  

Here’s a preview of the presentations included in the schedule so far:

  • Special presentations from both the Canadian Centre for Cyber Security (CCCS) and the Ontario Cyber Security Centre of Excellence (CSCE)

  • The Cybersecure Catalyst will be presenting on Cybersecurity incident response - local team planning and training as well as offering up two new hands-on workshops on their cyber range to interested participants.

  • Lindsay Sill, Executive Director, CUCCIO, and Jeff Grieve, IT Consultant, CUCCIO, will discuss Navigating the Cyber Security Ecosystem in Canadian Higher Education

  • John Cuzzola, Information Security Director at Thompson River University will present on Defending Our Turf: Putting ChatGPT to the Test in Information Security

  • Tracy Dallaire, Director, Information Security at McMaster University will host a panel presentation on Cyber Security Workforce Challenges 

  • Paul Webber, Manager IT Security at TMU will present on Why hacking our university isn’t easy...knock on wood!

  • Palo Alto will be giving a presentation  (TBD - I will be talking to them soon, let me know if there is an area of particular interest you want their Unit 42 group or others to talk about.)

  • Brian Lesser, Chief Information Officer Toronto Metropolitan University, will be presenting on Benchmarking cybersecurity
