CUCCIO oversees the annual Canadian Higher Education Information Technology Conference, known as CANHEIT. With a focus on IT issues of interest to Canadian universities and colleges, CANHEIT brings together staff, managers and senior administrators who are responsible for the management and evolution of their campus information systems, learning systems and digital infrastructure. CANHEIT is an open conference and anyone is welcome to attend. Attendees are not required to be a member of CUCCIO.

As the only national conference for IT professionals in higher education in Canada, CANHEIT brings together IT staff from universities and colleges across Canada each year to share ideas, showcase best practices and learn from each other.

CANHEIT 2017 - Queen's University, Kingston, Ontario

After successful editions on the east coast and out west, CANHEIT returns to Ontario for CANHEIT 2017. More than 450 of Canada’s campus IT leaders and advanced research computing experts and researchers will be in Kingston from June 13-16, 2017.  Queen’s looks forward to hosting hundreds of delegates from fields including information technology, advanced research computing, data management, and digital infrastructure in the tourism jewel of Southeastern Ontario.

CANHEIT 2017 will feature a full complement of speakers on the conference theme of “HUMANI.T.Y” – celebrating how IT is the driving force behind human success in higher education. Keynote speakers include authors and broadcasters, and the conference is rolling out a full social schedule including dinner at historic Fort Henry, a local brewers’ beerfest, and of course the famed CANHEIT awards gala – hosted this year by Mary Walsh.
